We are settled but not unpacked, the sun is shining and the sea is fantastic. \u00a0I haven’t been in the water every day and as I believe that a day on an island without swimming is a day wasted, I don’t care if it’s cloudy or even if it were to rain and I get a smidge grumpy if I can’t go. It is just a little bit too far to walk and there are no footpaths, it’s only about a five minute drive but the roads are dreadful and poor Vanley is having to pick up his skirt and tiptoe everywhere in case he damages another tyre so I’m not taking responsibility for another puncture.<\/p>\n
I went to the coffee afternoon, I was a bit late, I was sunbathing and decided to walk there from the other end of the bay, thinking that it would take about ten minutes, it took an hour of hard walking, clearly my sense of direction and distance was way off as usual. \u00a0It was for Macmillan so I couldn’t give up, 5.5 km of soft sand in fit flops with a less than enthusiastic dog but at least I turned up. \u00a0We both went to the quiz, didn’t do so well, but with questions like ‘Who’s the oldest in One Direction?’ it’s hardly surprising that we only came 4th!<\/p>\n
The apartment is owned by a lovely family who have been very helpful, the mum is a teacher and the dad potters around the farm on a tractor, they have two girls, one is a little bit portly but very pretty and the older one has been very helpful, translating for us as her English is perfect, she is tall, dark, show-stoppingly beautiful and her parents have seen fit to name her Nymphadora. \u00a0God I hope she doesn’t come to the UK and tell anyone until she’s much older.<\/p>\n
